The Hi-Tech Lab project for Primary schools
It is essential to ensure that the primary sections of our schools are also equipped with ICT gadgets, as like the Secondary schools. It was in this perspective that Government decided to implement the Hi-Tech Lab project for Primary schools, through with ICT equipments would be deployed to Lower Primary and Upper Primary schools. KITE was entrusted with the responsibility of implementing this project. KIIFB sanctioned an amount of Rs.300 Cr for this project. It was decided to deploy Laptops, Projectors and USB Speakers in proportion to the number of students in each primary schools, along with Broadband Internet Connectivity.
During 2018-20, KITE successfully completed the implementation of the Hi-Tech Lab for Primary schools project in 9941 Lower Primary and Upper Primary schools in the State, by which 54916 Laptops, 23050 Multimedia Projectors and 54916 USB Speakers have been deployed. In addition to this, Broadband connectivity has been provided to 7398 primary schools as part of this project. School wise details are available in Sametham portal www.sametham.kite.kerala.gov.in
