Selected teachers from these schools were provided ICT training using Samagra. Broadband Internet Connectivity with a 2 Mbps speed was also provided to these schools on an experimental basis. There was a total of 11,287 Govt & Aided Primary schools in the State, with over 21 lakh students. However, based on the minimum number of students in some schools, it was decided to consider only those LP & UP schools where the average student strength in a classroom is more than or equal to 7.
1359
primary schools were not included in the Hi-Tech Lab project for Primary
schools project, due to fewer number of students and infrastructure facilities
at the time of preparation of DPR of the Primary project. Subsequently the
infrastructure facilities in these schools have improved resulting in increase
in enrolment of students. In such a context, it was been decided to provide ICT
equipments along with Broadband connectivity these 1359 primary schools also using
KIIFB funds, so that the students studying in the schools are also benefited. Accordingly,
KITE provided Laptops, Projectors, USB Speakers (1 each) and Broadband
Connectivity to these primary schools also.
