Privacy Policy

Effective Date:29/04/2026
Last Updated: 29/04/2026
Applies to: Saphalam KITE mobile application (Android package gov.kerala.kite.results) published on Google Play.

Summary: Saphalam KITE is a results-viewer for Kerala Board examinations (SSLC, HSE, VHSE). We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal information with any third party. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking. Everything you enter in the app is used only to look up your publicly-issued examination result and is stored only on your own device.

1. Who We Are

This application is published by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), a Government of Kerala undertaking with its registered office in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. In this document, the terms “we”, “us”, “our”, “KITE” and “the App” refer to KITE and the Saphalam KITE mobile application.

2. What the App Does

The Saphalam KITE app lets candidates and schools view results for the following examinations conducted in Kerala:

All results displayed by the App are fetched in real time from the official result publishing servers operated by the Government of Kerala / KITE.

3. Information You Provide

To fetch your result, you voluntarily enter the following details on the in-app search screen:

These values are transmitted directly, over a secure HTTPS connection, to the official Kerala result servers. They are used solely to retrieve your result and are not stored by KITE on any server beyond what is required to serve the result lookup request.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

For your convenience, once a result has been successfully fetched, a copy of that result is saved locally on your device only, using Android’s standard application storage. This allows the App to show a history of previously viewed results without requiring you to re-enter details every time.

WhereWhatWho can access
Your device’s private app storage Fetched results, timestamps, examination type Only the App on your device; not transmitted anywhere
Your device’s temporary folder Result PDFs and PNGs generated for sharing Only you, when you choose to share via the Share button

You can remove this data at any time by clearing the app’s storage from your device’s Settings → Apps → Saphalam KITE → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling the App.

5. Information We Do NOT Collect

6. Network Requests

To function, the App makes HTTPS requests only to domains owned or operated by the Government of Kerala / KITE, including (but not limited to):

In addition, the App fetches a small public configuration file from a KITE-controlled endpoint on launch, so that messages such as the current examination year, or announcements, can be updated without pushing a new release.

7. Permissions the App Requests

PermissionWhy we need it
Internet To contact the official result servers and fetch your result.
Storage access (scoped) To temporarily save a result PDF or image so you can share it via WhatsApp, email or any other app of your choice. No files are read from your device.
Post notifications (Android 13+) Requested only if the device OS enforces it for basic in-app feedback; not used to send promotional or marketing notifications.

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses standard open-source libraries to render PDFs and to invoke the device’s built-in share sheet. These libraries run entirely on your device and do not transmit any data about you to their authors or to third parties. The only servers contacted are those operated by the Government of Kerala / KITE as listed in Section 6.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is used by students appearing for Kerala Board examinations, many of whom are minors. The App does not knowingly collect any personal data from children. Students under 13 years of age are encouraged to use the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian. No data collected through the App is ever used for profiling or marketing to children.

10. Data Security

All communication between the App and the KITE result servers is encrypted using HTTPS / TLS. Because we do not operate a backend database for this App, there is no long-term data repository that could be breached. The only data persisted is the local history on your own device, which is protected by Android’s standard application sandboxing.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

We do not retain your result data on our servers. Local history remains on your device until you delete it, using either:

12. Your Rights

Since KITE does not hold any identifiable personal data about you through this App, there is no personal data for us to export, correct or delete on our side. If you believe any information about you is being held incorrectly, or if you have questions regarding your privacy rights under applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), please contact us using the address in Section 15.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. Any changes will be published at this URL, and the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the App after such changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

14. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India and by the regulations of the Government of Kerala. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
